Some churches have chosen to give out entire gift baskets to each of their new Bible study requests to start building a relationship. However, it could be as simple as a handwritten note letting them know that you are praying for them and are there for them to reach out to. Taking that extra step shows a level of care that can go a long way when building a new relationship. Below is a sample of what a note might look like.
Here is a suggested script that may work for you:
Hi Mary,
My name is Jane and I am the local volunteer for My Free Bible Study. I was excited to receive your request and look forward to helping you connect with the right study for you. Instead of just sending you a study, I like to find out a little bit more about your request so I can share the study that will have the most impact on your life right now. Since I got your name I have been praying for you. Sometimes when people reach out there is something specific going on in their life. Is that true for you? If so, I would love to be able to pray for any specific circumstances and talk if you need. Feel free to text or call me if you have any questions, would like prayer, or just want to talk. My phone number is [PHONE], or you can email me at [EMAIL]. I look forward to hearing from you!
God Bless,
Jane Doe
